Hola! We are now in Jaco, on the sunny Pacific Coast of Costa Rica!

Kate and I arrived in San Jose, the Capital and left as soon as we could the next morning! San Jose is a city with a random of mix industrial, city-like and old style Costa Rican flavor! But it was a bit too city and ‘tourist’ and so we headed for the coast!
Jaco (Haa-co) is really hot and kind of muggy! Every now and then there is a completely massive downfall of rain! But cos its soo hot it’s still perfectly ok to wander around in the rain!

We are staying with a friends of friends family from Wellington. Elizabeth, is Costa Rican but has great English (which is awesome, cos we don’t have great Spanish…) and is a surf instructor so shes been telling us where the good beaches/places are!
We have been swimming here heaps already. Its it’s more of a surf beach and the waves are soo awesome its easy to body surf (…even without meaning too!). Jaco featured in The Endless Summer movies as the beaches are great for surfers, clean and not very crowed. Heaps of places teach surfing, so there are heaps of ‘learner surfers’ in the water – which is really amusing!
Jaco a little bit touristy with all the surfers, but they are from all over the world and most locals here don’t speak much English so its kind of a mix!

However, one thing that is completely great here is the coffee!! I can see why people say ‘Coffee Rica’ as it is awesome! I can’t believe that America has generally such bad coffee when the coffee here is sooo good!

I wish I could post some photos, but this computer is a bit old. Will try and include some snaps of paradise as soon as I can.

We will probably move further south tomorrow maybe to Quepos, still along the Pacific Coast, and check out the beaches down there!
