There’s a 5 things meme floating around the blogosphere at the moment. You write five things about yourself that most of your readers won’t know about you, and then tag 5 others to go next.

The posts that are being written give an random insight to the bloggers personality, which is really revealing since many of my favourite blogs are by people I have never met!

There are many Meme threads running around at the moment for example this one at Kathy Sierra’s blog.

And since Mr Lewis of Umami fame has just tagged me, now it’s my turn…

My 5 Things Internet Meme…

1. When I was just a wee thing in the playground some big meanie pushed me into a wall and broke my nose, so now when I wear sunglasses they sit a bit crooked…

2. While at University we did a study on the ‘lowbrow’ art movement and I’m still hugely influenced and a fan of most of these artists/designers, eg. Robert Williams, Shag (Josh Agle), “Big Daddy” Ed Roth, Coop, Pérez (…thats his work ‘The Incredible Hulk’ cover image over there on the left…), House Industries, etc. I continually refer to the works in this movement/style more than any other for inspiration (yes, even while designing websites… ). Anyway, the point was that from this study I learn to draw really impressive hotrods and superheros…

3. The best quote I’ve heard lately is ‘I’d beat (Nielsen) up if I saw him‘ by Joshua Davis.

4. From my flat on Mt. Victoria I can look down and see almost the all the Wellington waterfront, all the ferry’s as they come and go, and almost right around to the start of the motorway, I might post a photo one day if I get around to it…

5. At my work I have to try really hard not to become a ‘computer nerd’ and to remain a ‘cool designer’ : )
